Beestemerk, the original farmers` market, was revived in 1978.
The market is always held on the second Thursday in September.

Farmers who bring in cattle compete for various prizes. These include `the Piet van Simon cup`
for the furthest away cattle buyer and `the Clipper cup` for the lightest hoofed animal.

Besides the exhibition, there is also a fair at the Eastern Neighbourhood.
